I think we were his lucky charms ☘️ Good luck to Mercer and the rest of the NJ Devils as we’ll be cheering from home! One last thing, when Mercer seen the NL flag during warm up and gave me that little smile, it was heart warming as I can only imagine what it must be like to be away from home and doing what you love and seeing a Newfoundland fan come all that way to cheer you on. I only hope that we can attend another Devils game in the future. Mercer scored his first NHL hat trick and the stadium was on fire, I’ll cherish that experience with my father forever. My father was shown on tv during the game waving his Newfoundland flag and my siblings seen it as they were watching from home. My father is a huge Dawson Mercer fan as he is a proud Newfoundlander and delighted that Mercer is doing so well in the NHL. I attended the game with my dad and significant other and it was an experience of a lifetime. I never played hockey and that will always be a regret of mine but I absolutely loved to skate and never missed an opportunity to do so. It was excellent, atmosphere was amazing and so exciting.Īs a true Canadian, I’ve always loved hockey and lived at the rink two communities away from my hometown.
